TT Rock Stars
TT Rock Stars is a carefully sequenced programme of daily times tables practice.
TT Rockstars is a core component of practising mathematical basic skills as required in our homework policy. Quick recall of multiplication knowledge is fundamental for all children to master in order to be competent mathematicians. It is a vital part of learning to support skills needed as an adult.
Children take weekly multiplication tests according to their current knowledge from Year 2 to Year 6. They will be bringing home their weekly multiplication test that they carry out in school so that you can help support them at home and also keep track of their tables.
There is an expectation that children complete 15 sessions a week minimum on TT Rockstars to practise their times tables and support their knowledge. This takes no more than a few minutes each day but the ‘little but often’ approach is necessary for retention.
Weekly Times Tables Test in Class
This will be based on your child’s current knowledge and will take place on a Friday. It marries with the online platform on TT Rockstars and raises the status and importance of learning times tables in school. The tests will be timed at 3 minutes and teachers will use the information to support learning. Below is an example of the tests that will be sent home following completion in school:
Tracking your Child’s Progress at Home
If you would like to see how your child is progressing with their multiplications on their TT Rockstars account, you can click on Me/My Stats.
A heat map like the one below will load. It shows how successful your child is at each of the facts. This is a great way to support at home and make sure that you are aware of your child’s multiplication knowledge.
All children from Years 1 to Year 6 should have a TT Rockstar login from their class teacher; please follow login instructions here:
The programme is available across all devices:
It is also available from any internet browser.
We thank you for your support with this and are excited at celebrating the children's achievements in school.
Please contact Mr Williams-Jones at email@example.com if you have any queries about TT Rock Stars.
